Sunday Times and Daily Telegraph carry David Lough comments on Cameron, Churchill and tax

11th April 2016

The Sunday Times and Daily Telegraph have both turned to David Lough’s book No More Champagne: Churchill and His Money to gain a historical perspective on David Cameron’s tax travails.

The Daily Telegraph highlights David’s comment:  “There is a more serious point here. None of this is to say he wasn’t an extraordinary leader at an extraordinary time. Today we seem to have a frenzy of demanding complete financial purity of our leaders. Not only no skeletons in their closets, but no skeletons in their father’s cupboards. We will end up with complete cardboard cut out dry leaders. Is it not much better to have people who have had some failures in their life and coped with them?”
