The paperback version of No More Champagne: Churchill and His Money is now available on UK bookshops’  shelves or Amazon, priced at £9.99 a copy.  Published by head of Zeus, it appeared on 8 September, almost exactly one year after the hardback version was published.

David Lough, the book’s author, commented: “I am thrilled to see such a handsome paperback version of No More Champagne, with its wonderful cover.  Its launch coincides brilliantly with Churchill’s face appearing on the new £5 plastic bank note.  A £5 note in Churchill’s young days would be worth about £500 today. Put the other way round, today’s £5 would have bought 1 shilling’s (or 5p)worth then. Still he would have been delighted to buy a new book for the equivalent of his 10p – wonderful
