David Lough will speak at the International Churchill Society‘s annual conference 10-12 October 20127, to be held in New York. His topic will be Churchill and the Art of the Deal, a discussion of Churchill’s negotiating style which David studied while researching his book No More Champagne: Churchill and His Money.
‘Churchill developed his art of the deal over many years. He learned much of it while negotiating with his bankers, publishers, wine merchants and the taxman,’ argues David. ‘But then he applied the lessons he had learned to deals in his public life too.’
The conference is taking place a few blocks from Trump Tower in New York. Donald trump has produced his own book The Art of the Deal – which David has ordered and will be examining to see if there is any common thread with Churchill’s negotiating technique.
